The Pho-Binh restaurant is a family run business. The reason the food is so very good is because the cooks do not cut any corners. Soup ingredients are made fresh every day. The broths have extra-ordinary flavor. I usually ask for an extra helping of fried onions (hanh-phi) and a few slices of hot pepper. The Pho-Ga is excellent here as well!! See for yourself and you'll find the prices are very reasonable. The owner is also one of the cooks and is happy to tell you about the menu. The beef and chicken soups are in my opinion, unmatched in the bay area.
The restaurant across the street (Pho Queen) their soup does not have the fresh taste like Pho Binh. I rate the Pho Queen at three stars and the Pho Binh, I rate at five stars because of taste and aroma. Do yourself a favor and skip the other places and enjoy the small but enjoyable Pho Binh restaurant.
If you can come in on Saturday or the off hours, because of its popularity the lunch hour is a mad rush. They are open on Saturdays as well, this happens to be my favorite time to visit.

I took my wife and daughter to Pho-Binh yesterday and this place is filthy. The tables are sticky and unclean, it smells like a back alley, and there are flys everywhere. What a horrible experience! I love pho, but this place was so unclean, I couldnt enjoy it!
Rating: Two Chop-Sticks down (I do not recommend).

I love Pho Binh. I have been eating there for six years. I enjoy trying other Pho restaurants. So far Pho Binh is my favorite because of the flavors. It is very busy place during lunch. Out the door long waits. And for good reason. The broth is to die for. I don't know what chip "anonymous" has on his shoulder. He did not offer a critique of the food. For some people image is everything. It does not smell and is not filthy. But it is modest and the flavors are honest. There is a variety ingredients to chose from. Give them a whirl and judge for your self.
