Ratty meat, sub-par broth, and you have a dissapointing pho. Most troublesome, they sprinkle little bits of tripe in all their pho - Im not a fan. But even if you like that trip that gets intermingled with then noodles, and thus is impossible to pick out, the Round Eye steak is nasty. It's filled with veins and connective tissue joints, and not cut nearly thin enough for such a ratty cut.

I served in Vietnam for several years. Having eaten at many Vietnamese Restaurants in the U.S., many have changed their traditional recipes to satisfy American taste. Pho Bac is one that has maintained a triditional Vietnamese Pho and is one of the best in the U.S.
While many Americans wouldn't try tripe and other ingredients in Pho, these are the traditional meats used in Vietnam and is what makes an excellent soup.
While on a trip in Washington D.C., my wife and I tried a bowl of Pho at a Vietnamese restaraunt in Georgetown that had changed their recipe to adopt to American taste. It was bland and not even close to what Pho should really taste like.
My wife is Vietnamese and both her and I rate Pho Bac as one of the best.

This place is the bomb! The pho is basically the same as everywhere else, but the experience of the restaurant is great. Everyone, with few exceptions, is Vietnamese. I feel like I have really stepped right into East Asia when I go there. Pretty good banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) too -- great with pho. I always go here for lunch or dinner when I am in Atlanta!

If you are looking for a fancy restaurant with a great service, Pho Bac is definitely NOT a place to visit. This is perfect place if you care for authentic pho noodles. Pho Bac was the best pho place so far and I never skip to drop by whenever I visit Atlanta area.

This is my favorite pho! The service is great, the price is great, and the sandwiches are great! I have pretty much stopped trying other pho restaurants in the area as this is the best! People that I know that are familiar with authentic Vietnamese food agree with this review.
