I have eaten here several times when I return home to Louisville from Saigon where I have lived for the last decade or so. The most authentic bowl of pho I have found yet in this area code. A nice Vietnamese family owns the place and it is worth a visit for a bowl of the hot stuff southern style (ie. Saigon taste).

Annie's has the feel of an authentic Pho joint - the type I grew familiar with living in Seattle. It is very comforting to walk in to this non-strip mall, hole-in-the-wall in a sleepy neighborhood and see quaint decor, chopsticks and sauces on every table, and Asian families eating lunch.

The fresh spring rolls are excellent and the prices for both the apps and the Pho are exactly what they should be: cheap. The pho itself was not bad. I wish I could be more praiseworthy, but the broth was simply too watery to be rated higher. The broth is always the most important ingredient in pho, and when it's average or worse, your perception of the whole experience changes. On a positive note, the beef was tender, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the veggies were fresh and abundant.

If this place were in my neighborhood, I'd be there often. However, since I live in Indiana and don't make it to Louisville often, I'll have to keep searching for Louisville's best pho elsewhere.

Why is this wonderful, bright and friendly restaurant with the best Vietnamese food in Louisville listed as "Closed" on this listing? - I ate there just the other day.
The Pho is consistent - always perfectly seasoned, and the beef slices are top notch. The fried pork Spring Rolls are the perfect combination of crisp wrapper, savory filling, all wrapped in cool crisp romaine and fresh basil leaves, and dipped into a wonderful sauce. My favorite!
