Pho #1 is a Godsend to Pho lovers in the Lehigh Valley. Taking over the building from the previous owners of Pho Vung Tau, the decor has been thankfully updated, the look is clean and fresh, and the food is literally scrumptious.

I've eaten Pho across most of the country, and what you'll find here at Pho #1 literally ranks with the best you'll find in Chinatown in NYC and/or Philly. It is consistent, rich-flavored, delicate, earthy, and complex.

I could almost eat here every day, and in particular would also like to commend the very friendly and prompt wait-staff, who seem to know instinctively that you're needing your Phix of the good stuff, and like Florence Nightingale's, bring relief in a hurry! :)

I work about 15 minutes away, so I pray that Pho #1 has a long and prosperous life...it's that good!

The restaurant itself is very clean and very nice inside and outside. As for food, they have varieties. The staffs are very friendly and prompt. However, I'm a soup person, so pho is one of my favorites. But I'm very disappointed with their soup. I've eaten pho and made my own. My family loves pho too, but they too didn't like pho from this restaurant. First of all, for a large bowl of pho, it’s not very large in term of noodles and meat. Everything are cut very thin and small like: (4) small slices of raw eye round beef, bible tripe (so small and thin that I don't even have a number for it, the same with cooked beef), 2 or maybe 3 very small tendons (it's almost like they cut those tendons off from the beef soup bones instead of using the actual beef tendons), beef meat balls are cut into 3 or maybe 4 cubes and so on…The most disappointment of all is the broth. I don’t even think they use a lot of soup bones. I think they use a lot of rock sugar to flavor the broth and probably store bought beef broth. The broth was very bland and has no taste/no aroma of star anis, cloves, cinnamon sticks, ginger, nut meg, corianders, onion etc. This soup has no such flavors to make you want to go back for more. For those of you who are pho aficionados, you’ll know what I’m talking about. As for the noodle portion, it’s very small and way too much broth. As for the price it’s pretty steep and here is an example: a large everything pho with extra beef meat balls (8 triangle shapes) and an ice coffee was almost $15. I rated a 2 for the overall satisfaction and a 1 for their pho. I like to eat a bowl of good soup without having to “hike up my pants legs.” This is a Vietnamese saying for pho with too much broth and not enough noodles and meat. I will never go back again. Vietnamese patron.

Incredible pho!!! Under new management and it makes a difference. Very clean and nice decor. I eat there at least once a week and can not get enough. For under 10 dollars you will leave happy and very full!!!

Delicious. I'm a vegetarian, so I left the meat rating at the default, from what I've heard it's good. Great veggie selection. Sometimes slow service but always friendly.
