Excellent Pho -- I've been to several other places in the triangle that are crappy. This one is by far the best I've been to. I'm a regular customer.

Postives: Restaurant, including bathroom, was very clean. Coffee brewed at the table in the filter, not pre-mixed.

Negatives: No basil; only bean sprouts, cilantro, and a wedge of lime. Broth was bland, almost tasteless. Not much flank steak in the bowl and it was already cooked through by the time the soup was brought to the table. Waiter forgot to bring the coffee that I ordered to the table. A rice noodle dish, chicken with lemongrass and chili, was nothing but fire from too much chili on the chicken. No other flavors, no strips of pickled daikon, no large pieces of fresh vegetables like tomato slices or lettuce leaves.

The service is quite good, but the pho I give only 6 out of 10 overall. I would have given a much higher score if I had been provided with more basil and greens along with my beansprouts. Unfortunately, this is the best pho I've had so far in the Triangle area, as there is a real dearth of Vietnamese restaurants around here. Atmosphere at 9N9 is like most Vietnamese restaurants you find anywhere - very casual and very tacky. Not a great date restaurant (as it is not romantic at all) but it is good if you have an emergency pho craving. I like that they also serve Vietnamese poor-boy sandwiches and bubble tea.

Average Pho, compared to Pho Cali in Raleigh. Broth is ok, but the meat is great, and plenty of noodles. Overall recommended, but watch out at lunchtime!!! It is on the edge or RTP, so from 12-1:30 the place can be VERY busy, but dead before and after.

Warning: Stay away from the Cafe su Da... it doesn't taste very good here!

I have eaten here many times and always have a good experience. Not the best broth ever but very good, wait staff will bring extras of whatever you want. I do not visit during RTP rush hours so this is a quiet and relaxing meal. My Pho Factor is high because the staff are generally so pleasant and accommodating.

I can't really compare it to any other place as pho 9N9 was my first pho experience. But it is a great place for my newly pho fix. I usually eat it once a week. My wife and son love the summer rolls and the family that owns the restaurant is extremely nice. Highly recommend you eat early for lunch or you hit the RTP crowd.
