I've never eaten here before but the restaurant is very intimidating. There's never anyone here. I've tried eating there once (Saturday afternoon). I waited in the front and didn't see anyone for 10 minutes and decided to leave. A slow restaurant is a tell-tale sign of bad food.

Pho 43 is on the SW corner at 43rd Ave and Thomas, 2844 N 43 Ave. When I was in, the place was full of Vietnamese natives happily enjoying the food. The broth wasn't as flavorful as some other local pho establishments. High pho factor, not bad, will return. It was an enjoyable experience.

You guys are all on ef'n crack if you think this place is the worst. First of all, if you haven't eaten at a place, don't freakin' put up a review, not to mention a very inaccurate review.

I have been to almost every pho' place in Arizona, and I have grown up on this type of food. Although, the ambiance is ghetto as it is located in a bad part of town (43th and Thomas) hence Pho' 43. This place, by far HAS THE BEST TASTING PHO' and PHO broth in the valley, hands down. It even beats out one of my favorite places, Phuh Thanh/Dah Vang (owned by same family) which is a hard feet to accomplish. The downsides to this restaurant is that:

-Bad part of town

-Customer service is mediocre (what do you expect, it's a vietnamese hole in the wall)

-Small sitting areas (could be crowded for the most part, everytime I have gone...it was very crowded which should show you right off the bat that this place has some very good pho')

-ONLY ACCEPTS CASH!!

I Love this place!! dont talk crap if you haven't tried it. Yes its a hole in the wall ghetto place with ok service.. but the foods pretty cheap and its delicious

Decided to give it a try based on the review from Pho'nix. So, I tried it and thought that the pho was horrible. Not worth the trip. Broth was bland. Vegetables were old. The place had an old rag smell. Save yourself a trip. Instant pho noodles taste better that the pho at this place.

Friendly people and food to die for. Best in Phoenix.

What the PHO
I have eaten at several PHO restaurants in the valley, and this by far is the best PHO served in the Valley, if i find one better i will retract my post. Yes, it is a ugly little hole in the wall, service is questionable, but the PHO can't be beat.

This place has overall the best pho and the variety here is impeccable. You should come here and try their food and I guarantee you are going to love it. The service there is hands down the best.

If you want great food for inexpensive prices then you should go to Pho 43

PHO LOVER #1
The food there is the best Vietnamese food in the valley. I LOVE THIS PLACE! They are clean and everything but probably need to remodel to get up-to-date. BUT THEY ARE STILL AWESOME! The pho is the best in the valley - sometimes I have to wait for a table because it's so busy. Those negative reviews are full of lies. FOR REALZ!! It's always poppin'n over there. The taste of the pho is as authentic as it gets. Right up there with CA pho because the family is from CA.

Hands down the best Combination Pho soup in town. I always get the Pho dac biet, but when it comes to Pho 43 I get their custom combination egg and rice noodle soup, with BBQ pork and squid and fish ball and cake soup. Man the flavor is out of this world. I know some days the place is packed and some other places are empty. Over all the food has been good and the tasty to my delight.

Decided to give it a try today since I've heard quite a bit about it. I did a search and also Pho Bang, has anyone tried it? If so, how is it compare to Pho43?

Yes, they only accept cash.... I will make that extra trip to the bank just for PHO43... I've been going there for years.... authentic, good prices, EXCELLENT food. It's family run and family owned and I've tried many different Vietnamese restaurants around the valley.... PHO 43 is BY FAR THE BEST ONE OUT THERE!!!!!

I moved away from Phoenix a few years ago, and about the only thing I miss in Phoenix is this restaurant. I went there once a week, and have not found Pho anywhere close to this where I live now. The service may be a bit dodgy, the location is definitely ghetto, but dont let it stop you. This is some of the best Pho I have ever eaten.

Awesome soup. Been there twice. Veggies always fresh and crisp.

To the one dude who "waited 10 minutes". ok first don't write a negative review if you haven't even tried their food and second, the food is not going to magically appear in front of you if you wait. you're a tell-tale sign that you are a moron. go and actually try their food. Ive tried it and it was the best food/soup I ever had. everything is always fresh.

The best anywhere in the Valley! I have tried at least 4 other like it in Phx. Still keep going back to Pho 43...A hole in the wall place, great prices and family owned. A real Gem in the hood...lol...I go as often as possible...Remember cash only...Enjoy! It is the most authentic place you will find. Delicious!

I have bee going to this restaurant for 7 years and is my favorite.

I lived in Phoenix for 4 years and ate here a minimum of once a week. I have since moved out of the state and have yet to find a place that makes pho as good as Pho 43 Express. Yes, it's a dive. Yes, it's in a bad part of town. None of that matters. Just be sure to bring cash.

The food here is very authentic. that may only be good for those of us who actually grew up eating Vietnamese food. It is very flovorful which may be to strong for some. I've been going there since 1993 and never disappointed. I go there for the food, not the service or the decor. I've eaten at most vietnamese restaurants in az from east-west and north-south. Have managed restaurants (including pho). Family have owned pho restaurant here in the valley 11 years ago. Have lived in Phuoc Loc Tho (CA) for nine years- I know what authentic food is

Phyco
Very pleased with food and great price. I like that it is family owned. Good size portion especially the soups there all to die for. Area is bad but sometimes good food is worth the travel. Circle K on corner if u need to get cash too.

I love this place, I have been going for about 10yrs. True hole in the wall goodness. Not fancy, but very traditional!
Very cheap, family owned. The best in Phoenix!

I never had pho before in my life. I passed by this place so many times never really payed any mind to it, until I had a hankering for some good noodle soup, looked around, realized this place was close to where I work, and said heck why not. Walked in there, very small restaurant, saw a few people in there eating and enjoying the company over a bowl of pho. I walked up the man behind the counter was very nice, explained to me what kind they had gave me time to think and once I decided, took it to work sat down I fell in love at first bite. It was so flavorful, and it seemed to be healthy even. I enjoyed it till the last bite. I love this place I will be definitely be stopping by more often for my breaks here!
